Exploring the temples by bicycle is the perfect way to get up close to the temples while staying cool! Cycling through ancient gateways and visit areas that are inaccessible to cars and coaches. This trip visits the main temples of Angkor including Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm, along with lesser-known Boeng Mealea. Whilst cycling a support vehicle is always available for peace of mind.

Arrive in Siem Reap and transfer to your hotel. At 2:00pm you will take a cycling tour of beautiful Siem Reap and get accustomed and comfortable with your bike for days ahead. Siem Reap is located just North of the Tonle Sap Lake and your bike ride today will give you a good orientation of all that this town has to offer including the Royal Residence, Central Market, Old Market and one of the local Killing Fields. Tonight you may wish to try some local Khmer food at one of the many restaurants near Pub Street.

The Temples of Angkor represent six hundred years (802-1432) of Khmer civilisation, one of Asia's greatest Kingdoms. This morning you will depart your hotel at 8:30 am to cycle to the Angkor complex located only eight kilometres from the centre of town. You will start with a visit to the world's largest sacred building and an architectural masterpiece, the magnificent Angkor Wat. You will then move onto the ancient city of Angkor Thom, which includes the eerie stone heads and evocative bas-reliefs of the Bayon Temple, Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. For lunch you can enjoy a local meal at one of the many small restaurants located within the Angkor Archaeological Park or ride back into town to eat at one of the many cafes and restaurants. After lunch, visit the captivating Temple of Ta Prohm, famous for being the location of the filming of the movie Tomb Raider, Banteay Kdei and Prasat Kravan temples. Total cycling distance today is approximately 30 kilometres.

This morning start your ride by cycling on some great small roads before joining the sealed roads out to King Suryavararman the 2nd's eleventh-century Boeng Melea, passing through some rural villages and breathtaking landscapes. Boeng Melea stands almost forgotten in jungle and getting to the site is quite an adventure in itself. Isolated during Cambodia's civil war, Boeng Melea was under the control of the Khmer Rouge for decades but has since been de-mined and outsiders can now visit this safely visit this Temple. A picnic-style lunch at Boeng Melea is included. Cycling today is approximately 75 kilometres with support vehicle available.
