ITINERARY
DAY 1 INLE LAKE
Board a simple, comfortable private boat for your lake touring. Start with a visit to the morning market, where ethnic communities from around the lake gather to buy and sell their wares. Continue across the lake, passing stilt house villages, floating gardens, and the famous leg-rowing fishermen. Watch the making of traditional Shan tofu in Khaung Daing village then join an Intha family for lunch in their home. Relax back at your hotel in the late afternoon. (L)

DAY 2 INLE LAKE
This morning take a town tour by trishaw in Nyaung Shwe. See fresh produce being unloaded by the canals, and continue to the bustling morning market where villagers from the lake and hills buy and sell fresh produce. Stop at a nearby tea shop to sample a cup of famous sweet tea. Then continue by trishaw, passing local houses, monasteries and shops. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant specialising in local Shan cuisine. Continue on to Red Mountain Estate and soak up the views while sampling wines made from their delicious grapes. Continue along the lake shore, seeing different produce being grown and prepared. Our boat meets us at Maing Thauk for the return trip. (B)(L)

DAY 1 THANDWE – NGAPALI
Upon arrival at Thandwe Airport, transfer to Ngapali Beach just a short a 20-minute drive. Ngapali Beach is a quiet three kilometre stretch of white sand lined by coconut palms. The warm, clear waters are perfect for swimming, snorkelling and there are several small islands which can be reached by boat. Settle in to your beachside accommodation and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

DAY 2 NGAPALI
Spend the day at leisure to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere at Ngapali. Walk along or swim at the beach or simply relax at your hotel, the day is entirely for you to enjoy as you wish. (B)

DAY 3 NGAPALI
Another day to relax at the beach or hotel, or if you are feeling more active you may decide to cycle to some nearby villages or take a boat trip for a bit of offshore exploration. (B)

Our first stop is the Burmese Star Tortoise Conservation Centre. This endangered and charismatic species, decimated by the illegal pet trade, has enjoyed great breeding success here. Continue to Mount Popa arriving for sunset views of both Mount Popa and Taung Kalat from your hotel. (L)

DAY 2 MOUNT POPA – SALAY
After breakfast visit Taung Kalat, the volcanic home of the ‘nats’ or guardian spirits. Get a glimpse into this unique aspect of Burmese traditions.
