DAY 1 ARRIVE REYKJAVÍK, EMBARK SHIP
On arrival transfer to your small ship. Get to know your fellow passengers during a Welcome Dinner tonight. D

DAY 2 GRUNDARFJÖRÐUR
Today explore the western frontier of Iceland with a choice of tours. Delve into the rich history of Icelandic literature as you explore lava trails and learn of the sagas set in this epic landscape. From the lava field continue to Helgafell Mountain, ‘The Holy Mountain’ and onwards to Stykkishólmur to see the region’s foremost folk museum. Alternatively a tour of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula unveils many highlights such as Snæfellsjökull, the glacier made famous by Jules Verne’s novel ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’. DAY 3 VIGUR
Explore the Westfjords, stopping at of Ísafjörður and Jokulfjordur by Zodiac and make landfall on  Vigur, an island home to just five residents who share this paradise with thousands of puffins, eider ducks and Arctic terns. Visit Iceland’s only surviving windmill dating from the 19th century. Explore the oldest villages in Westfjords, Þingeyri and Hrafnseyri. See the thunderous Dynjandi, the highest waterfall in the Westfjords and one of the most spectacular sights in Iceland. Back aboard sail past the enormous Hornbjarg Cliffs. Rising over 500 metres from the ocean the cliffs are home to thousands of puffins. BLD

DAY 4 SIGLUFJÖRÐUR, AKUREYRI
Stroll through the picturesque town of Siglufjörður and visit the Herring Era Museum and learn of the booming economy of the 1900s centred around the fishing industry. Sail to Akureyri where your ship will dock for the evening giving you a chance to have some free time ashore. BLD

DAY 5 AKUREYRI, NÁMASKARD, GOÐAFOSS
Signature Experience - Start today with a private visit to the Mývatn Nature Baths, this popular hot spring will be opened exclusively for APT guests.
Lake Mývatn, speckled with impressive natural rock formations and hot springs, is also a significant ecosystem and is the largest migratory bird sanctuary in Europe. Later explore the lava fields and boiling mud pools at Námaskard and steam vents of Lake Mývatn’s craters. Next visit the thunderous ’Waterfall of the Gods’, Goðafoss, one of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls. BLD

DAY 6 GRÍMSEY ISLAND
Today visit Grímsey Island, bisected by the Arctic Circle. Here enjoy free time to take a nature walk exploring the island’s basalt cliffs, home to countless nesting birds. BLD

DAY 7 SEYÐISFJÖRÐUR
Discover the brightly painted Norwegian style wooden buildings of the fishing village of Seyðisfjörður on a walking tour. Visit local shops famous for their Icelandic patterned woollens garments. Alternatively hike along a picturesque river trail, exploring a verdant landscape flush with wildflowers. BLD

DAY 8 TÓRSHAVN, FAROE ISLANDS
Relax this morning at sea before arriving in the Faroe Islands where a tour of Kirkjubøur reveals a thousand years of fascinating history.  See te 900-year old Roykstovan, considered to be the oldest wooden house in Europe. A hike into the surrounding hills is also offered. Your ship remains in port overnight, allowing you to explore the town this evening. BLD

DAY 9 VESTMANNA
Arrive in Vestmanna this morning, in the northwest corner of Streymoy. Board local boats to explore the nearby vertical cliffs that rise almost 500 metres from the North Atlantic and are home to thousands of seabirds including puffins, guillemots, fulmars and kittiwakes. Return to your ship for lunch before visiting the striking village of Saksu, an isolated settlement set beneath steep majestic mountains. Later visit a traditional Faeroese wooden church in Kolla Fjord. BLD

DAY 10 SUÐUROY
Your last morning in the Faroe Islands will be spent on Suðuroy, the southernmost island of the group. Perhaps choose to join an island tour, driving through quaint colourful villages and stunning fjords, discovering the Akraberg lighthouse most southern point of the island. Alternatively join an energetic hike along the east coast of the island, to Hvannhagi. Enjoy stunning views towards the three islands Litla Dimun, Stora Dimun and Skuvoy. BLD

DAY 11 STORNOWAY ISLAND, SHIANT ISLAND
Arrive in the Outer Hebrides today on the Isle of Lewis. Discover the Scottish Stonehenge at Callanish Standing Stones, which date  from around 3000BC. Visit a Pictish fort and stop at a reconstructed village featuring traditional black houses with thatched roofs. Later board your ship’s Zodiacs to explore the wild basalt cliffs of the Shiant Islands. BLD

DAY 12 ST KILDA.
Awake this morning in St Kilda, an uninhabited archipelago beyond the Outer Hebrides where a local ranger will lead you on a series of guided walks. BLD

DAY 13 OBAN, DISEMBARK SHIP, DEPART EDINBURGH
Disembark your ship in Oban then be transferred to Edinburgh airport for your onward flight or let us know if you wish to stay longer!
