This unique glamping experience is a bucket list trip that will stay with you forever! The Top End Safari Camp is an inclusive overnight adventure designed by Matt Wright, local tourism guru and the star of National Geographic’s hit TV show ‘Outback Wrangler’. No one knows the Top End of Australia quite like Matt and this experience embodies everything that is wild, wonderful and authentic about the Australian outback, along with the added luxuries of gourmet food and beautiful accommodation.

You will be collected from Darwin and transferred in an air-conditioned coach to the famous Berry Springs Reserve where your adventure begins. Enjoy a refreshing dip in one of the park’s breathtaking natural springs, fed by crystal-clear waterfalls and surrounded by rugged native bush. If you’re more interested in bush walking or bird watching then you should take the monsoon forest and woodlands walk, through the Top End habitats. The park also has remnants of its World War II history, when more than 100,000 armed forces personnel were based in the area.

The iconic Darwin River Tavern is the next stop for lunch (own expense) – a variety of barramundi, oysters, fresh salads or a good old traditional steak sandwich are on the menu. While you’re waiting for your meal, you can walk outside to the tavern’s fantastic Animal Sanctuary to meet the rescued animals, there’s Bella the Buffalo, Eddy the Emu and Wally the Wallaby to name a few.

Continue to the incredible Top End Safari Camp. Set among the Litchfield region’s spectacular cathedral termite mounds and lush open floodplains, the Camp’s ten deluxe Lotus Belle Tents are tastefully decorated and complete with a double bed, outdoor rainwater shower, wooden deck and solar power. Once you’ve unpacked and settled into your tent, stroll over to meet ‘Tripod’ and witness an unbelievable feeding with this Saltwater Crocodile.

If that’s not enough excitement for one day, you’ll finish your afternoon off on a real high, with a helicopter scenic flight over the surrounding floodplains spotting wild boar, crocs, buffalo and extensive birdlife. It’s then time to unwind on the Star Deck with a delicious cheese platter while you enjoy an amazing Northern Territory sunset. Your friendly chef will serve a gourmet barbecue dinner of barramundi and steak and dessert of course. After dinner, the deck and open fire pit are all yours to sit around and take in the open sky and fresh air around you before you head to bed.

Rise and shine the next morning for a cooked breakfast overlooking Finniss River Station. Feel free to have a quick dip in the pool to awaken your senses before you depart back to Darwin on the coach. Make sure you pack your camera, because the pictures from this trip will be like no other!
